The Resource Efficiency Pledge is a nationwide scheme backed by Scottish Government to help Scottish businesses use energy, water and raw materials more efficiently throughout their operations. Since 2014, over 200 organisations across Scotland have taken steps to save money and strengthen their businesses through the Pledge.
The Pledge has four levels of achievement, each building on the commitment of the previous. The Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum reward system recognizes Scottish businesses that are steadfast in their year-on-year sustainable growth.
Since the launch of the programme, more than 4,000 businesses and organisations have implemented projects with lifetime savings of £237 million, saving over a million tonnes of CO2.
With access to free technical support and branded marketing materials, business who take part will receive the assistance they need to implement changes and promote its commitment to the environment and the economy.
Development Director of Carrick Management, Nicola Brown said: “Resource efficiency is a priority within Carrick Management. We would encourage organisations to find out more about how they can reduce their environmental impact and save money by the actions they take and make the Resource Efficiency Pledge themselves. We are looking forward to building on the commitments already made by implementing long lasting processes.”
Nicola Brown is a CPD Certified Green Champion following the completion of training run by Zero Waste Scotland this week. The course covered skills and tools so to successfully improve the resource efficiency and environmental performance of Carrick Management and help to educate and influence the companies that they work with into becoming more environmentally conscious.
